Dr. Tom Reinsel is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and has been doing spine surgery for over 20 years treating cervical, thoracic and lumbar problems.
Dr. Reinsel specializes in minimally-invasive spine surgery, when appropriate and has spent time across the world observing and participating in the latest spine techniques. Most back and neck problems improve without surgery, however, and Dr. Reinsel is able to facilitate non-surgical treatment as well.
He attended Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where he grew up and did his orthopedic training in Chicago at Cook County Hospital and Northwestern University. He completed two spine fellowships—one at Rush University in Chicago and a second at the University of Vermont. He is an elite reviewer for The Spine Journal and reviews articles for Spine and other academic journals.
